The team

The people who will actually do your work.

There is no account manager layer here. The people named below are the people on your file, which is the main practical advantage of working with a firm this size. Between them they cover delivery, treasury, finance systems, technical review and legal counsel.

Usama Siddiqui

Founder

ICMA Pakistan Finalist QuickBooks ProAdvisor Intuit Certified Bookkeeper
LinkedIn profile

Usama runs the accounting side of Finnovia and leads client delivery. His background is full cycle bookkeeping across US and Pakistani businesses, with the kind of work that only gets learned by doing it at volume: daily bank position management, inter company reconciliation across multiple entities, and month end closes that had to be right the first time.

Before Finnovia he led a bookkeeping team handling full cycle accounting for more than sixty monthly clients across gas stations, franchise restaurants and service businesses, supporting an associated tax practice serving over three thousand annual clients. That included specialised franchise reporting for Little Caesars locations, where the corporate reporting standards leave no room for approximation.

Alongside Finnovia he manages daily bank positions and multi party reconciliations in a high volume payment processing environment, where a discrepancy left unresolved for a day becomes expensive. He previously handled multi clinic financial operations for a US healthcare group in Illinois: separate records per location, reconciliation across three entities, and the full accounts payable and receivable cycle including insurance and patient invoicing.

The automation side of Finnovia comes from him as well. Working with his manager in that role, he designed and implemented automations across several finance processes that removed more than 40 per cent of the daily manual workload. That figure is from his own work inside an employer rather than a client engagement, but it is the clearest evidence of what this approach does when it is applied properly.

Having done the manual version of this work at scale, he builds the systems that remove it: document capture, coding rules, follow up sequences and reporting packs that run without a person driving them. It is the reason the firm exists in the shape it does, and it is why the second month of an engagement should cost you less time than the first.

Abdullah Siddiqui

Partner, Audit and Technical

ACCA Finalist CA Pakistan Finalist BCom, University of Karachi IFRS and ISA specialist

Abdullah leads the technical and assurance side of Finnovia. He is an Audit Supervisor at a Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu member firm in Pakistan, where he has advanced from junior auditor to supervisory level in under four years and now runs engagements as engagement lead.

His audit work covers the regulated end of the market: multinationals, banks, insurance companies, mutual funds and non-banking financial institutions, alongside manufacturing, construction and services clients. That means audit planning and risk assessment, testing the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting, and advising clients on the accounting treatment of complex transactions and significant estimates.

He has worked on assignment in Saudi Arabia twice. He led an IFRS implementation for a group of companies in Dammam, and completed a secondment with a Baker Tilly firm in the Kingdom running statutory audits for clients including Tadawul listed companies and construction consulting groups. Both required working to international standards under regulatory scrutiny rather than to internal preference.

What this brings to Finnovia is a reviewer's eye. Books that have been through an audit process are built differently from books that have not, because someone who has spent four years testing other people's records knows exactly where they tend to fail. He sets the standard our files are prepared to, and reviews the work that goes out.

We keep the client list deliberately short. You work with the person doing your books rather than an account manager, and that only holds if we do not take on more than we can deliver properly.

How we divide the work

Five roles, no overlap.

A small firm only works if everyone owns something clearly. Here is who owns what.

STEP 01

Delivery

Usama runs client engagements and month end delivery. He is the person you write to, and the person whose name is on your monthly close.

STEP 02

Treasury and finance leadership

Mehak leads cash and fund management for clients with multiple accounts, gateways or entities, and advises owners on liquidity, forecasting and banking relationships.

STEP 03

Systems and automation

Usman designs the reconciliation controls, workflows and dashboards, and supports forecasting, budgeting and FBR and SRB compliance.

STEP 04

Technical review

Abdullah sets the standard files are prepared to and reviews the work before it goes out. Audit trained, which means he looks for what is missing rather than what is present.

STEP 05

Legal counsel

Waheed advises at partner level where a commercial question turns into a legal one. Finnovia does not provide legal services; he is counsel we introduce clients to.
